A major break through was reached as Zimbabwe's major political parties try to find common ground for talks that could lead to finding a panacea for the Zimbabwe crisis. African Union Chair Jean Ping succesfully talked President Mbeki into including the AU and UN in the mediation of the Zimbabwe situation. A team of emminent persons will now oversee the negotiations and Mbeki will brief them about the progress of the talks. It is now expected that the memorundum of understanding paving way for talks, will now be signed and talks will begin. This signifies a major diplomatic victory for the MDC which called for the expansion of the mediation team. Meanwhile the economic meltdown continues on a free fall as the RBZ introduced a 100billion dollar bill and prices of basic goods continue to sour. On the bright side, South Africans, Africans and the world celebrated the 90th birthdy of the legendary Nelson Mandela...happy birthday Madiba!
