Zanu PF violence continues despite SADC rebuke
The Southern African Development Community (SADC) Troika summit in Zambia at the end of last month demanded an end to “violence, intimidation, hate speech, harassment, and any other form of action that contradicts the letter and spirit of the GPA.”
But that rebuke has not discouraged ZANU PF militants who continue targeting MDC supporters in different parts of the country. In Harare’s Epworth township for example, residents suspected of being MDC supporters, on Tuesday lost plots of farm land to a gang of ZANU PF supporters who invaded the area and threatened them with death.
Co-minister of national healing Moses Mzila-Ndlovu and Catholic priest Marko Mkandla, who were given no food during their incarceration, were brought to court in handcuffs and leg irons, watched by a large detachment of riot police, lawyers said.
