On Friday December 10 the Friends of Zimbabwe held a donor meeting in Copenhagen, discussing their strategy in Zimbabwe. Ahead of this meeting the Zimbabwe Europe Network held its AGM and came with a set of recommendations to the Friends of Zimbabwe donor countries.

On Monday November 8, Zimbabwe Watch in cooperation with WDO and the Zimbabwe Europe Network organizes a debate about Zimbabwe’s ‘blood diamonds’. The debate will take place in Leiden, with Shamiso Mtisi as special guest. He is the coordinator of the Local Focal Point of the Kimberley Process.

On 29 October 2010 the report 'A Place in the Sun' will be presented during a meeting of Lawyers without Borders at Koster Lawyers in Haarlem. Special guest is Chris Mhike, lawyer and human rights activist in Zimbabwe.

The newsletter will appear every two months and will contain the latest news about the activities of Zimbabwe Watch and its members, as well as information on the latest developments in Zimbabwe.

Zimbabwe Watch and the European Partnership for Democracy organize a debate in The Hague with Irene Petras (Director Zimbabwe Lawyers for Human Rights) en McDonald Lewanika (Coordinator Crisis in Zimbabwe Coalition).

A delegation of prominent Zimbabwean civil society leaders will visit several European countries, marking the second anniversary of the Global Political Agreement.

Human Rights Watch, Global Witness, and PAC Canada report on the smuggling of diamonds, army presence, and human rights violations in Chiadzwa.

Op 26 en 27 mei (20.30) wordt in De Balie in Amsterdam het toneelstuk The Great Escape vertoond, waarbij op humoristische wijze de alledaagse politieke werkelijkheid van Zimbabwe in beeld wordt gebracht.
