The inclusive government, in the form of co-Home Affairs Minister Kembo Mohadi (ZANU PF), reportedly endorsed a decision by the South African government to end a special dispensation that allowed thousands of Zimbabweans, to enter South Africa without documents.

With the end of the special dispensation set for 31st December, Zimbabweans would have to apply for new permits if they wished to stay in South Africa. There has been widespread anger over this decision, with many analysts pointing out that it sends a wrong message to suggest things are improving on the ground in Zimbabwe, when for most people living in the country there has been no change whatsoever.

Meanwhile, Kimberley Process (KP) monitor Abbey Chikane is expected in Zimbabwe tomorrow (09-09-10) to approve the second sale of diamonds from Chiadzwa fields.

Other news this week include reports about an analysis of what would happen should President Mugabe die, reports about factionalism within the MDC, and the approval of a US$ 20 million aid package of the EU to Zimbabwe.
