Deal sealed!

Zimbabwe's rival political parties have finally agreed on a power sharind deal. President Thabo Mbeki, chief mediator, announced the deal breakthrough but did not give further details on the agreement. It is expected that more details will be availed soon after the official signing ceremony on Monday(15 September 2008). The parties have been negotiating for almost two months but failing to reach an agreements due to differences over allocation of roles and powers between the president and the Prime Minister, duration of the unity governement and the number of ministries. The agreement is expected to serve as a springboard for the revival of the Zimbabwean economy and facilitate transition to democracy.
