Constitutional Amendment Gazzeted

The Constitutional Amendment Number 19, which will effectively give legal standing to the Global Political Agreement signed by the three major political parties in Zimbabwe has been gazzeted.The MDC has raised concerns around the manner in which the bill was drafted and gazzeted and that they have not been consulted.They have also hinted they may block the bill if it does not meet their requirements. At the same time, ZANU PF has indicated that fresh elections might be called if the bill does not get parliament approval. Meanwhile ,the UN and South Africa has called for the speeding up of the GNU formation as suffering continues in the Southern African country. The Harare government has accused the Botswana government of training bandits and preparing to fund and support insurgency in Zimbabwe.
