Talks continue

The struggle over the allocation of ministries continues in Harare as the major political parties entered a third day of negotiations presided over by former South African President Thabo Mbeki. Whilst hopes were high for a deal on Thursday, at the end of the day new signs of continued disagreements were showing as no deal was reached. Meanwhile civic society organisations have called for demonstrations against the continued delay of the formation of a government as people continue to suffer. ZINASU, WOZA, in conjunction with other civic organisations held demonstrations in Harare and Bulawayo respectively. Arrests have been made and police brutality was witnessed, putting into question the sincerity of the unity government negotiations.
