Deal in jeopardy

Talks resumed and broke off without a deal. The African Union has called for equal sharing of power between the MDC and ZANU PF, but ZANU PF has dismissed any suggestions for a fifty fifty power sharing agreement. Mbeki is expected to continue with attempts to salvage a deal as the economic meltdown continues unabated. In the mean time, teachers have gone on strike demanding a review of their salaries. On the brighter side, the government has lifted the ban on the aid organisations but has set strigent checks on their activities.
